A Senior Design Project

Introduction

This webpage presents the work performed on the Cell Phone-Computer Interface PIC-GSM electrical engineering project. This ECE final project will help you succeed in your electrical engineering project, weather it be a final project or a regular computer engineering project for an ECE class at your university.

Electrical Engineering Final Project Objective

This electrical engineering final project report objective is to present the work performed on the Cell Phone-Computer Interface senior project. This report presents the design requirements and functions and then describes the hardware design for each subsystem of the ece final project, as well as the software design and implementation. The goal of this report is to guide the reader through our ece final project to complete the requirements given and produce a final product that is presentable and fulfills all design specifications.

ECE Final Project Requirements

Our project was to create a home automation system by interfacing a cell phone and computer. This system would be able to operate with a very simple cell phone which could only make phone calls and send text messages to make some changes in the home.

Another requirement for our electrical engineering project was to have a way to check the phone number of the user who sends a text message or makes phone calls for security.

The ece final project also needed to respond to the user. It needed to tell the user whether the required task was done or not. For example, if the user requested to turn a lamp on, the system should reply to him/her whether the lamp is turned on or not.

Organization

This report consists of six chapters followed by a References section and Appendices. The first chapter covers the introductory information of the Cell Phone-Computer Interface electrical engineering project. The second chapter covers the design specifications, approaches, and final project ideas. The third chapter covers the design work our team accomplished which is divided into two sections: hardware design, and software design and implementation. The fourth chapter provides information on how to use the senior project as well as safety information. The fifth chapter provides our team’s recommendations for future development and modification of the Cell Phone-Computer Interface computer engineering project. The sixth chapter concludes the report. Following the conclusion are references and appendices.
